I have an unfortunate penchant for gadgets. Whether it be a KitchenAid Mixer, or the Asus EEE Tablet, it seems like I’m always lusting after some new, interesting and (hypothetically) useful bit of technology. At the moment, I’m drooling over the Pentax K-x camera.
There are a lot of things that I love about this camera. Here are a few: First, and most importantly, it will be backwards compatible with the lenses that fit on my dad’s old 35 mm Pentax camera from the 70’s. (I used to have a Canon Digital Rebel XT, but I sold it because I wanted higher-def photos, and less overhead for lenses.) Second, in addition to taking still photos, it also takes video. Finally, it comes in a lot of different colors. I mean, a lot of colors. 100 in fact:
Now, mind you, most of these colors aren’t available in the US. They’re only in Japan. But Pentax just released a whole batch of new colors for fall, including this one:
I had my heart set on the navy blue one for a long time–because it’s coloring is subtle, and it would go with my netbook. But you know what? Forget subtlety! I think I may just be getting a bright pink camera in a few weeks.
